Arran is a dear place to me, and I have lifelong ties to the island. In August 2024, together with key figures in the island community, I founded and launched the Arran International Festival of Chamber Music and Song. This year, 2026, marks our third festival, and in that short time we have laid the foundations for an event rooted in community and outward-looking in spirit.

 

The festival's founding ethos is “getting across borders”, in a world where so many lines are being drawn in the sand. At its heart, the festival is built on a belief in human connection, creativity and live performance. Each year it brings a fusion of musical genres and traditions to the island, celebrating cultural exchange, featuring international artists and outstanding local talent, through a week of concerts and events in villages and unique venues across Arran.
