Arran is very dear to me, and I have lifelong ties to the island. In August 2024, together with key figures in the island community, I founded and launched the Arran International Festival of Chamber Music and Song. Now in its third year, in 2026, we have already laid the foundations for a festival that is rooted in the community and outward‑looking in spirit.

 

The festival’s founding ethos is “getting across borders” in a world where so many lines are being drawn in the sand. At its heart, the festival is built on a belief in human connection, creativity and live performance. We bring a fusion of musical genres and traditions to the island, celebrating cultural exchange and featuring both international artists and outstanding local talent, through a week of concerts and events in villages and distinctive venues across Arran.
